ADL-Activities of daily living

We mean postural control by self-correction during various daily activities. This allows people with scoliosis to more easily form their newly formed posture and process it as a motor engram (we encode the brain by repeating a certain action, in this case movement). The purpose of self-correction is for new positions to become a new conscious corrected posture, which contributes to avoiding further progression of scoliosis.

Development of the Schroth method

Scoliosis was recognized at the 5th century BC, when Hippocrates described it, and also treatment for scoliosis. At the end of the 20th century, Katharina Schroth developed a three-dimensional treatment for the correction of scoliosis. From 1921, a new form of non-operative treatment of scoliosis began, which consisted of specific postural corrections, a corrective breathing pattern and correction of postural perception.
