A device for topographic assessment of postural status has arrived at the Scolio Center. 3D Spine is a device that scans the body in a non-invasive way, without the use of markers and, most importantly, without radiation. The recording process takes 5 seconds, after which precise and reliable information about the postural status is obtained.
Spine 3D provides precise information about existing deformity or bad posture. Information is obtained about the position of the body in all planes, where values and deviations from the norm are expressed numerically. This device is especially useful for condition monitoring and control, where the results obtained are compared. When the results between the two measurements are compared, it is possible to obtain precise information about the achieved changes. With the 3D spine, it is possible to see the results achieved by the treatment, but it is also possible to spot the first signs of a possible worsening of the scoliosis curve in a timely manner and adjust the treatment accordingly.
The advantages of topographic assessment of postural status are multiple, however, one of the most important for us and parents is the CONTROL of spinal deformity in a non-invasive way, without radiation, as well as PREVENTION AND EARLY DETECTION of it. With this device, it is also possible to observe minimal body rotations (asymmetries), which are difficult to see just by eye. We should not forget that early detection of deformities is the key for achieving maximum results in the treatment of postural deformities.
